The Freedom RICAR System uses the NT/Windows 2000 file system to create a file-based index. This provides instantaneous retrieval of any image stored in the file system. The database functionality operates as an overlay, allowing the demographic data to be brought into the system at a later time. The server process runs as NT Services, acting like "daemons", to provide the regular processing of all indexing and system maintenance into SQL Server. The scanning workstations provide compressed TIFF files over the network to be stored on the NT Server. The CD-ROM burning process queries the database for the availability to utilize the maximum space available on the CD-ROM. Images are then burned to CD/ROM for archival and/or jukebox placement.
An example of a Freedom Imaging Systems' RICAR installation is above. RICAR can be extended beyond this example or be implemented in smaller conditions.

How well do you want your solution to work when the size of your workload increases? Freedom understands that daily volumes tend to grow as imaging initiatives are expanded across an enterprise. With your future production in mind, RICAR easily grows along with your needs. Choose a solution that is scalable to support greater work loads achieving the performance you need
A centralized image repository can store documents needed by multiple locations around the country. If you have regional facilities devoted to payment processing, record storage, or customer service they can work entirely from images and no longer need to handle the paper document or find a place to store it. Increases in document availability allow enterprise to focus its resources and grow exponentially without hiring additional personnel or leasing additional office space. As an added benefit, clients are often able to reduce or eliminate the high costs incurred while attempting to keep up with the rapidly changing realm of hardware and software while using load balancing and system redundancy to ensure efficient data delivery. Freedom is committed to streamlining operations and reducing the operating costs for its clients. |
