YPSILANTI, MI - September 1, 2002 - Freedom Imaging Systems (Freedom) is proud to announce Noonan Pontiac as it's first automotive customer utilizing Freedom's RICAR (Record Image Capture and Retrieval) software. Noonan Pontiac, located in Sterling Heights, Michigan, is a General Motors dealer of new and pre-owned vehicles.
Utilizing Freedom's RICAR system, Noonan will be able to scan and archive documents containing customer signatures, such as forms sent to the Secretary of State and odometer statements. Each file is labeled with information including the customer's name and the VIN, year, and model for the car that was purchased.
According to Jan Alderman, secretary and treasurer at Noonan Pontiac, the dealership has been struggling with a storage problem due to the legal requirement of maintaining customer files for a minimum of 10 years. "We have boxes and boxes of files, and we've simply run out of room," Alderman said. "What we need to do is find a way to better store all of this information, make it very accessible and categorize it." Freedom's customized system will help Noonan eliminate their paper storage problems by compressing and indexing vehicle documents and storing them onto CD-ROM. This integrated document imaging system will allow Noonan's staff to easily share, track and access electronic records while ensuring a quick response to customer needs. Documents imaged at Noonan Pontiac will add to the annual volume of over 100 million documents imaged by Freedom clients utilizing the RICAR system.
