YPSILANTI, MI - May 16, 1999 - Freedom Imaging Systems (Freedom), one of the leading data management and solutions developers in the United States, implements Computer Output to Laser Disk (COLD) at Quest Diagnostics Dallas, Texas site. Freedom’s COLD system will store Quest’s massive amounts of paper documents electronically, reducing storage space requirements and improving document retrieval. This system will give Quest staff immediate access to reports, manuals or large documents simultaneously ridding the hassles of tracking down paper documents.
COLD is a powerful report storage and retrieval system that compresses and indexes reports, and stores them on or off-line. With COLD, you can output computer-generated reports - like laboratory reports, financial reports and sales reports - to CD storage without printing or scanning paper. The space on each CD is maximized for optimum storage, with each computer-generated document stored as compressed ASCII data in as little as 1/100th the size of scanned documents. Once stored, reports can easily be retrieved, viewed, printed, faxed and distributed.
