Ann Arbor, Michigan - October 2010 - Freedom Imaging Systems (Freedom), a leading data management and
solutions provider, is pleased to announce Solstas-Spectrum Laboratories has migrated Freedom's Electronic Content Management
software - RICAR - to VMWare.
Spectrum is a long time customer and user of Freedom's RICAR content management software. Like many of Freedom's other
Fortune 500 customers, Spectrum wanted to take advantage of the increasing popular and efficient VM software.
Spectrum is Freedom's 15th VM migration/installation.
Freedom began the migration process by migrating over 20 million images collected using RICAR since 2000 to the new file
storage system. The image migration lasted a little more than three (3) weeks. Freedom then migrated the scanning process
and finally the database on the third weekend in October successfully completing the full migration.
Since August, Spectrum has improved its document processing and billing cycle by installing Freedom's workflow solution
FreeWF, its 835/ERA file processor FreeX12 and now migrating RICAR to a more robust server using VM. Before the end of the year,
Solstas will further improve its document and billing processing by installing RICAR at its Solstas Carilion Roanoke and
Knoxville locations.
