July, 2009 Ann Arbor, MI: Freedom Imaging Systems (Freedom), a leading document management and workflow solutions provider, is pleased to announce BioReference Laboratories, Inc (NASDAQ:BRLI) has selected and installed Freedom’s RICAR SMB suite for its select document imaging solution.
RICAR SMB (Record Image Capture and Retrieval for Small and Medium Businesses) is a specially designed turnkey document management software suite for small to medium sized businesses, medical offices and laboratories desiring an imaging/document management solution without the enterprise costs.
Working with BRLI IT and laboratory personnel, Freedom installed the RICAR SMB software package in the first week of July, 2009. Although BRLI is the third largest full service laboratory in the US, the RICAR SMB suite with FreeScan was a perfect fit for their specific imaging operation. BRLI is using Freedom’s RICAR SMB solution to capture and manage send-out clinical reports for uploading into their web report portal. Additional document captures are currently being designed to assist BRLI with eliminating the manual storage and retrieval of other laboratory documents not currently being digitalized.
Freedom’s RICAR SMB suite is comprised of such products as:
- FreeScan software for capturing documents via scanner.
- FreeImport software for importing any non-scanned file types into the management system such as Word/PDF documents, Faxes, WMV and MP3 files.
- FreeView software allowing for less than three (3) second retrieval of documents from Virtual File Cabinets for up to 25 users.
- FreeWorkflow (FreeWF) software for document/image indexing.
- FreeReport software for reporting productivity, document access and statistical activity.
